About Just In Time Energy
Just In Time Energy, an energy technology company focusing primarily on large scale long duration hybrid energy storage systems, provides solutions to the problems of the mismatch of when power is produced to when it is needed, and the increasing need for high deliverability natural gas, based on our patent approved technology. Storing excess renewable energy in the form of either liquid air or LNG, the cold liquid, with the addition of waste heat, or heat from the combustion of fuel, efficiently generates power at peak times, and in the case of LNG, returns the stored gas to the pipeline system concurrently with the generation of highly efficient electric power. The increasing penetration of inherently intermittent wind and solar is causing a critical need for large scale long duration energy storage and high deliverability natural gas storage.
Just In Time Energy also holds the rights to the U.S. patent for the Recuperated Rankine Boost Cycle. A significant improvement over other organic Rankine cycles for operation with input heat temperatures in the 700°F to 1100°F range, this cycle is incorporated in some versions of our energy storage cycles.
Just In Time Energy is also developing an innovative high efficiency combined cycle power system, details of which will be made available after our provisional patent application is filed later this year (2023).
Our Team

Morgan Hendry, President of Just In Time Energy and founding investor.
Mr. Hendry is a Director and President of SSS Clutch Company, Inc., and has held other positions within the Company during his forty-year association. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of SSS Clutch Company, Inc., and for the markets for SSS Clutches throughout North and South America. Mr. Hendry is also a Director of SSS Gears Limited, Sunbury-on-Thames, England, and has coordinated marketing activities in other geographic regions worldwide as needed. Mr. Hendry holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical & Aerospace Sciences from the University of Rochester. He has been a member of ASME for forty years and Chair of the ASME Marine Committee for 4 years, and a member of American Society of Naval Engineers and the Society of Naval and Marine Engineering.

Jim Berry, Founder, Vice President and CTO of Just In Time Energy
Mr. Berry received his degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University, his work career began with General Electric’s locomotive division where he designed and installed test equipment, followed tests in the field and provided service at railroad repair shops throughout the U.S. Working at De Laval Turbine (later became part of Mannesmann, then Siemens) and at Penske Power Systems, he gained more than 25 years of sales, marketing, and application engineering experience with centrifugal, axial, integral gear type and reciprocating compressors, gas and steam turbines, boiler feed pumps, condensers, and diesel and natural gas engine generators. He has built computer programs to optimize equipment selection and economics of combined heat and power systems, modeled compressed air energy storage systems, and built programs for the matching of gas turbine driven centrifugal compressors to gas pipeline systems. His experience with organic Rankine cycles began in 2007 when he represented Wow Energy and modeled their Cascading Closed Loop Cycle, this led to a contract with Waldron Engineering to model the Advanced Tandem Organic Rankine Cycle, which in turn inspired Mr. Berry to invent his own ORC, the U.S. patented Recuperated Rankine Boost Cycle (now assigned to Just In Time Energy). Mr. Berry’s work with liquid air energy storage systems began in 2010 with a joint development agreement with one of the major air separation companies, working on the power recovery end of a liquid air energy storage system. In 2019, he invented a power cycle to be used for the regasification of LNG at import terminals, this cycle also works with liquid air and is the basis for Just In Time Energy’s U.S. patent and foreign patent applications for the Re-Condensing Power Cycle for Regasification. Mr. Berry has a close relationship with SSS Clutch Company working as a technical marketing consultant writing articles about applying their self-synchronizing gear type overrunning clutches in the power, energy storage, oil and gas, and district energy markets.
Mr. Paul L. Cotner, USAF Colonel (retired). Founding investor, Business Advisor Emeritus
Years ago, Mr. Cotner purchased a wrecked dump truck, repaired it. and by hauling material for construction contractors, paid his way through Ohio State University where he earned a high school shop teaching degree. Mr. Berry met Mr. Cotner when Mr. Cotner oversaw recruiting of doctors, nurses, and lawyers in Pennsylvania for the U.S. Air Force. Other assignments in the Air Force included a tour in Vietnam, and Air Force attaché positions at the U.S. embassies in Ecuador and Panama. Paul is a successful real estate and stock investor. He is also an antique car enthusiast and an official judge for the Classic Car Club of America. Mr. Cotner is commercially and technically savvy and has quickly brought himself up to speed in the energy storage business.

Steve Mendelson Legal counsel for intellectual property.
Getting a patent is the easy part; getting a solid one that can’t be readily worked around is Steve’s specialty. Starting out at General Electric after receiving his BS in physics and MS in electrical engineering, Steve returned to university and received a JD from the University of Pennsylvania, founding an IP law firm in 1999 that is now Mendelsohn Dunleavy, P.C. Specializing in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for inventions in the electrical, computer, and mechanical arts, Steve has helped obtain many hundreds of patents in his over 30-year career. Steve is an important member of the Just In Time Energy team.
